Inside a lesson
How every lesson works.
Problem-first learning starts with a challenge students can understand. They explore a solution, learn the idea behind it, then build with it.
Clear answers before you decide whether Zehn is right for your school.
01How does Zehn roll out in a school?
Most schools start with Grade 5 and add a grade each year, so by year three Grades 5, 6 and 7 run together. Schools that want all three grades from the first year can start Grades 6 and 7 with short entry modules that cover the foundations first.
02Who teaches the lessons?
Your own teachers. Zehn provides the curriculum on both plans. On Zehn Grow, we also train your teachers before term, prepare them every month, and review their lectures. If you need to hire a teacher, Zehn Talent can find one for you.
03How do you train our teachers on Zehn Grow?
Included in Zehn Grow: a two-to-three-day bootcamp before term starts covers the programme, the tools, and how to teach each unit. In the week before each month begins, we walk through every lesson. Teachers then have a weekly online session and a WhatsApp group for quick questions. Each teacher records one lecture a month and receives written feedback.
04What do parents see?
No homework. All learning happens in class through practical work. Children build real projects they can show at home, and schools can host an annual showcase where students present what they built.
05Do we need a computer lab?
Yes. You need a computer lab with at least one device per two students, stable internet, and a projector or screen. We design each year around the lab you already have.
06How is it priced?
Pricing is shared in your school's proposal. Both plans are billed per grade per month: Seed covers any number of sections, while Grow includes up to two sections, with more available at an additional fee. Contact us on WhatsApp for pricing based on your grades and sections. Billing is monthly in advance, by the 15th of the previous month, for 10 months a year. June and July are not billed.
07When does the curriculum arrive?
Each month's curriculum is released on Google Classroom within 24 hours of payment, about two weeks before the month starts. That gives your teachers time to prepare and your school time to set up any software the lessons need.
08What if our teacher leaves mid-year?
Zehn Talent can find and screen a replacement. If a teacher we hired leaves within 90 days, we replace them free of charge.
09Can we join mid-year?
Yes. Contact the Zehn team and we will plan onboarding and a start point with you.
10How long is the commitment?
Contracts run for the full academic year, per campus. After the first term (3 to 4 months), either side can exit with 30 days' written notice.
